Braintree, MA – December 31, 2019 – Satuit Technologies prides itself on its continued commitment to supporting local Boston area charities. This year was our 13th year as one of the top regional donors to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program.

During the months of November and December, Satuit Technologies Employees dropped off hundreds of toys to our Toys for Tots donation bin in our Braintree office. Employees also volunteered on December 18th to participate in the annual trip to our local Target to buy thousands of dollars’ worth of toys for children ranging from 0 – 17 years old.

The Toys for Tots Program’s goal is to help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America’s less fortunate children. The Foundation raises funds, purchases toys, provides promotional and support materials, manages all funds raised and donated, solicits corporate support, educates the public, and handles day-to-day operations.

Toys for Tots began in 1947 by husband and wife team, Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks, and Diane Hendricks. Diane created handcrafted dolls and asked Bill to deliver them to an agency that supports children in need. Come to find out, such an agency did not exist, and so Diane had instructed her husband to start one. That year, Bill Hendricks and the Marines in his reserve unit had collected and distributed 5,000 Toys to underprivileged children.

Presently, the Marine Toys for Tots Program distributes an average of 18 million toys to 7 million less fortunate children annually.
